The food shelves of Phabili, the Shelter for Battered women has been filled with a generous donation of food from the company, Curves who collected 600kg of food for - for which the organisation is very grateful. Expressing her gratitutde, coordinator of the Shelter, Rentia Venter said - "Thank you so much to the Staff of Curves and all their members for helping Phambili Refuge for Battered Women and Children."
The Shelter is at times filled to the brim with abused women and their children. Over the years the entire Shelter has been revamped with donations from the public. The BPW Outeniqua club has steadfastly kept the project going and will next week celebrate the shelter’s 10th year of existence.
The overwhelming warm hearted response from companies like Curves who have been donating food for the past three years, is what has kept the Phambili Shelter for Battered Women going.
